Mr. Lenon V. "Tom" Hall

Lenon “Tom” Hall, affectionately known by many as the “Small Boss of Arkansas,” was born on March 21, 1959, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to the union of Ms. Hattie Hall and Mr. James Hall. From his earliest days, Lenon was surrounded by a close-knit community that would come to deeply admire and value his generous heart, mechanical brilliance, and spirited personality. At an early age, he professed his faith in Christ and often found strength and spiritual fellowship at New Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained connected throughout his life. Blessed with a God-given talent for mechanics, Lenon quickly earned a reputation throughout Forrest City and the surrounding communities as the go-to expert for automotive repair. Whether performing a routine tune-up or tackling a complex engine overhaul, “Tom” approached every job with skill, precision, and a sincere desire to serve. He eventually established his own business, providing reliable and honest work to countless neighbors, friends, and family members. His garage became much more than a place of work—it became a community gathering space where people not only got their vehicles repaired but also received encouragement, laughter, and heartfelt conversation. Lenon embraced life fully. His vibrant personality, infectious laughter, and natural ability to brighten any room made him a beloved presence in his community. He loved to celebrate, uplift others, and spread joy wherever he went. Above all, Lenon deeply cherished his family. Alongside Ms. Myra Stanback, the mother of his children, he built a strong and enduring legacy rooted in love, loyalty, and unity. His role as a father, grandfather, and brother was one he carried with pride and deep devotion. On Monday, July 28, 2025, Lenon Hall transitioned from this life in Wynne, Arkansas, leaving behind a legacy of love, character, and unwavering service to others. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Hattie Hall and James Hall; one daughter, Levill Dukes; two sons, Louis Dinwiddie and Leonard Lee Hall; one cherished grandchild; six sisters, Mayola Curtis, Irene Hall, Barbara Hall, Janice Taylor, Elnora Huff, Alma Turnage; and one brother, Izear Hall. Lenon’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him, including his children: Chiquita Stanback, Ora Dukes, Bianca Hall, Jacqueline Hall, and Caleb Hall; sixteen precious grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters: Helen Williams and Madge Cunningham; his brothers: Earnest Austin, Jr., David Hall, Larry Hall, and James Hall, Jr.; and a host of extended family members, lifelong friends, neighbors, and countless members of the community whose lives he touched. Mr. Lenon “Tom” Hall will be remembered not only for his unmatched skill and work ethic but for his unwavering generosity, boundless joy, and deep love for people. His hands may have fixed engines, but his heart repaired lives. Though he is no longer with us in the physical sense, his spirit will continue to ride in the hearts and memories of all who had the honor of knowing and loving him.
