Gertrude was baptized at First Baptist Church as a young girl by Pastor G.L. Moore. She later rededicated her life as an adult and was baptized by Pastor Sherman Baker, Sr. She remained a member until her death, under the leadership of Pastor Frank M. Mull, III. Gertrude was united in marriage to her first husband, Leonard Walker. Together they raised three children, Regina, Paris, and Clenton. Mr. Walker preceded her in death. She later married Kenneth M. McKinney who was a faithful husband, father figure and grandfather. Gertrude attended the Forrest City School District and was a member of the Forrest City High School Class of 1976. Gertrude enjoyed working in the Forrest City School District Child Nutrition Department. She worked and served with the Food Service Committee at her church. Her most enjoyable time was spent with her children and family. Gertrude Foy McKinney unexpectedly departed this life on August 17, 2020 at Methodist Hospital Downtown, Memphis, TN. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Paris (TaRae) Foy-Gardner of Sioux City, IA and Clenton Wofford of Forrest City, AR; fourteen grandchildren: Kaneisha, Keema, Lacey, Latham, Raeshad, Alea Quinlock, Paris Jr., Dayvion, RayIs, Jakya, Zoey, Fantasia, Nicholas, Chase, Samaj; ten great grand-children; six sisters: Henerine (Emanuel) Hunter, Quinlock (Forrest) Rooks, both of Forrest City, AR Jacqueline Byrd of St. Louis, MO, Ollie Bailey of Cincinnati, OH, Shelia Ford and Marilyn Foy of Little Rock, AR; three brothers: Oliver (Gwenda) Foy, Las Vegas, NV, David Foy of Forrest City, AR, Edward Foy of Little Rock, AR; two brothers in law: Douglas (Michelle) Hinkle of Holly Spring, MS, and Theodis Hinkle of NC, and a beautiful bounty of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McKinney, her parents, her infant son, Herschel Wofford, her only daughter, Regina Foy, and her oldest brother, Clinton T.
