Miss Camona M. Richardson

On Thursday, July 2, 2026, Miss Camona Maria Richardson peacefully departed this earthly life at the age of 51. Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that her life was one marked by faith, perseverance, compassion, and an unwavering love for her family. Camona was born on August 16, 1974, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Veonia Jackson and Rodney Franklin. From an early age, she possessed a warm spirit, a caring heart, and a determination that would guide her throughout her life. At an early age, Camona accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Outreach Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor David Foreman. Her faith remained the foundation of her life, providing her with strength through every season. She found great joy in reading the Holy Bible and sought to live each day with kindness, grace, humility, and unwavering trust in God. Camona received her formal education at Sexton High School, where she graduated. Determined to further her education, she attended Ross Medical School, where she studied Medical Administration, preparing herself for a successful professional career. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Camona built a successful career in management, administration, business operations, and the hospitality industry. She was respected for her professionalism, leadership, and willingness to help others. In 2005, she relocated to Forrest City, Arkansas, where she continued working in hotel hospitality and management. Her career later led her to Jonesboro, Arkansas, where she made her home in 2016 and excelled in Talent Acquisition, helping connect individuals with meaningful employment opportunities. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Camona's greatest joy came from the people she loved. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend who treasured every opportunity to spend time with her family. She believed family was one of God's greatest blessings and never missed an opportunity to encourage, support, and love those closest to her. Camona enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved putting together puzzles, reading a good book, preparing delicious meals for family and friends, and spending quiet moments studying God's Word. Her gentle smile, caring spirit, listening ear, and generous heart touched countless lives. Whether offering words of encouragement or simply being present for someone in need, Camona made everyone around her feel loved and valued. Her life was a beautiful example of resilience, faith, and unconditional love. She leaves behind countless treasured memories that will forever live in the hearts of those blessed to know her. Although her earthly journey has ended, the impact of her life and the legacy of love she leaves behind will never be forgotten. On Thursday, July 2, 2026, God called His daughter home to eternal rest. While her presence will be deeply missed, her family is comforted by the blessed assurance that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Miss Camona Maria Richardson leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving mother, Veonia Jackson; her father, Rodney (JoAnne) Franklin; her beloved daughters, Lakeyda Roper and Alexandria (Alexander) Green; her loving siblings, Shadaryl Renee Patterson, Eddrick Richardson, Devonya Brown, Leslie Brown, Amber Pridgeon, Rodney Franklin, Jr., Roderick Townsend, Felicia Townsend, and Robbie Townsend; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many cherished friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.
