Mr. Albert L. Lynch

Albert Lynch, affectionately called “Alb,” was born in Beck Spur on Jan. 1, 1943, to the parentage of Charlie and Betty Lynch. Albert was the youngest of two brothers, Walter Lee Wiley and Charlie Lynch, and one sister, Alice Penigar. During his childhood, Albert was a member of the Pentecost Church, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Albert would go on to meet Katie, and on Aug. 22, 1962, she became his wife. This union was solidified through a mutual bond, a dose of patience, and an everlasting love. Albert and Katie secured 61 years of marriage, a model that endures as a lasting legacy. Gratitude goes to Albert for imparting the true significance of "To have and to hold, for better for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish and until parted by death.” Not only was he a dedicated husband, but he was also a devoted father and grandfather. He left a permanent impression characterized by strength, courage, commitment, and fortitude. Albert, our anchor, bestowed upon us the gift of love. He stood firm in the belief he had in his four children. He always supported dreams, imparted skills, chaperoned parties, instilled values, bravely mastered challenges, and shared Sunday NFL football moments with the kids. He made sure vacations were consistently filled with positive experiences and life-long memories. Beyond providing food, clothing and shelter, his pillar of strength extended to providing inspiration, encouragement, and support. Albert, a lover of the outdoors, immersed himself in activities like fishing, hunting, and barbecuing. The enticing aroma of summer barbecues was just another opportunity to acknowledge the unparalleled delight of Alb's barbecue. In 2003, he was declared the 'King of Bar-b-que,’ a distinction he proudly upheld. Consequently, he and his friends ventured into the barbecue business, serving the local community. Albert frequently put his culinary skills to use for friends, family, and reunions. Even today, Albert's signature sauce remains in high demand, a testament to his enduring culinary legacy. Recognizing the importance of togetherness, he connected with his siblings through love. Though words were not exchanged daily, the unspoken connection, shared history, and reliable support for one another were the glue that bound them together. Education held significant importance in the Lynch household. As a reflection of this commitment, he walked six miles to school as a kid. Albert's understanding and wisdom surpassed the confines of his formal high school education. His commitment would eventually pass down to succeeding generations. Alb underscored the significance of persistence, commitment, and continuous learning as essential elements for attaining academic success. A life mentor indeed, he was a driving teacher to some, a financial advisor to others and everyone’s hero. Knowing that heroism is a choice, Alb made a conscious effort to show up for everyone around him no matter the magnitude of the matter at hand. He was there every step of the way making the bad things better and the good things greater. Additionally, he provided practical advice and extended support that still serves as a guide to many. He worked tirelessly to lead by example and if he ever encountered difficulties, he was the type of man who carried himself in a way that one would never know. Alb was very dedicated to his career. Over his three decades spent at Sanyo, he took on the role as group lead. This provided him the chance to generously impart his extensive knowledge to colleagues and beyond. He was intentional in his approach to life, and he always found ways to help others discover their potential. Albert will be missed but one thing is for sure, he left his family fully equipped with the tools to overcome challenges and thrive in various aspects of life. On Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, Albert transitioned to receive his eternal reward. Albert was preceded in death by his brother, Walter, and nephew, Darryl. He leaves behind his wife Katie; siblings, Charlie and Alice, and his four children, Georgette (Harold), Charlotte (Terry), Kathy and Albert (Anita). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Lakisa, Kimberly, Jermaine, Ashley (Tim), Jennifer, DeMario, Milton (Letetia), Candrea (Myron), Maya (Milan), Jordan, Sarah, his special niece, Debra (Dolphus), and a host of family and friends.
