Mrs. Shirley "The Rose" Butler
April 23, 1947 - January 19, 2022
Shirley "The Rose" Butler, also known as Teeny, was born on April 23rd, 1947, to John Henry Franklin and Laura Delia Ware. Good humored and mischievous, she had one of those laughs that caused a ripple effect. It was so contagious and infectious that you found yourself joining in, even if you didn't know why she was laughing. Shirley was a long-time resident of Forrest City, Arkansas, where she met Frank Butler Jr. During their union, she bore four children: Gail Inaz Butler of Oklahoma City, OK, Yevette (Kenneth) Edmonds of Tulsa, OK, Leslie (Adrian) Turner of Plano, TX, and Frank (Michelle) Butler of Jacksonville, AR. Shirley attended Church of God on North Division up until relocating to Plano, TX in 2020 to be closer to her children. She was an amazingly generous, kind-hearted, and private person. She had a relationship with the Father, accepted Jesus as the Son, and found comfort in the Holy Spirit in her last days. Shirley loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very dearly. Words could never express how much she will be missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind four sisters: Mellede Duff, Helen Hull, Oeinta Mason, and Juanita Williams. Leaving to cherish her memories: her four children, 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her longtime, beloved friend Debbie Gadberry. In loving expectation of her arrival, Shirley will be greeted by her papa, John, her mother, Laura, her five sisters--Laurine Burks, Pauline Lawshea, Bobby Lydle, Mable Wymes, Vernice Williams, and two brothers--Jack Franklin and John Franklin, Jr.
