Mrs. Maxie Ramey

February 3, 1940 - March 29, 2022

Hamilton was born to Beatrice (Jarmon) Hamilton and Rev. Lee Hamilton Sr. on February 3, 1940, in Forrest City, Arkansas. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Pentecost C.M.E. Church; then later united with Taylor Chapel C.M.E. Church, where she remained a faithful member acting in all areas of worship and was President of the Usher Board for many years until her health failed. Mrs. Ramey graduated from Lincoln High School in Forrest City, Arkansas. In 1962 Maxie united in Holy Matrimony to the late T.R. Ramey. To this union, two daughters were born. Mrs. Ramey was an employee of Warwick Electronics & Sanyo Manufacturing for over thirty years before retiring. She is also preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Hamilton Hymes, father, Rev. Lee Hamilton Sr., four sisters Bertha Hamilton, Essie Hamilton, Genotra Williams, Lillie Dawson, One Brother, Jewery Hamilton. Mrs. Maxie Ramey departed this life after a short illness on March 29, 2022, at Colonel Glenn Health and Rehabilitation in Little Rock, Arkansas. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her children; Sherrie (Eric) McKisick of Sherwood, Arkansas, Angela (Kirby) Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas. After their mother's death, she raised two Great Nieces, Shawnessi Block of Forrest City, Arkansas, and Marquette Stricklen of Conway, Arkansas. One sister Icyfene Golden of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Three brothers Lank Hamilton of Evanston, Illinois, Rev. Lee Hamilton Jr. of Colt, Arkansas, Rev. Ira V. Hamilton of Carol Stream, Illinois, One step brother Horace Hymes Jr. Of Little Rock, Arkansas. Three sisters-in-laws Regina Ramey of Cotton Plant, Arkansas, Bobbi Ramey of Little Rock, Arkansas,& Helen Ramey of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Five grandchildren Justin McKisick, Sheridan McKisick, Tevin Smith, Chasidy Smith & Chase Smith. A host of Nephews and Nieces and Great Nephews and Nieces family and friends, which she loved dearly.
