She is preceded in death by both parents. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962. She was joined in matrimony on Twist Farm October 16, 1970 to Marland Brown. She accepted Christ at an early age and continued in the faith until her death. She united with the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend R. L. Franklin. In 1994 Pastor Marland Brown was elected the new Pastor, and she became the First Lady. Lady Brown enjoyed and lived life to the fullest, but most of all she exemplified Christ in her daily walk. At the Riverside Church she was a Church Secretary, Assistant Sunday School Teacher, Choir President, and she worked in the Women’s Ministry. She was employed at Sanyo Manufacturing Company for forty-four years. She retired in 2004. Lady Brown always had a word of encouragement to those with whom she came in contact. Her favorite scripture was Acts 17:28: “For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.” Lady Brown was a devoted wife to Pastor Marland Brown for forty-nine years and the mother of one son—Dewayne E. Brown. Lady Brown was faithful to God during her time of sickness. She never gave up. She trusted in God and stood on His word. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband—Pastor Marland Brown; son—Dewayne E. Brown; goddaughter—Mary Stegall (Jerry Stegall); two godsons—Felix Duckworth, Jr. and Darius R. Duckworth (son of Pastor Felix Duckworth and Donna Duckworth); godsister—Louise (Albert, Sr.) Goodwin; her sister—Barbara McKinney of Gary, Indiana; and other brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She departed this life on August 6, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee under the care of her dedicated doctors and nurses at The Alive Hospice Facility.
