Mr. Lawrence Thomas Watson, Jr

Life Reflections Mr. Lawrence Thomas Watson, Jr. was born on April 28, 1969, at Forrest Memorial Hospital in Forrest City, Arkansas, to Linda Adkins Watson and Lawrence T. Watson, Sr. On Sunday, July 19, 2026, Lawrence departed this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, talent, and cherished memories. At an early age, he accepted Christ under the leadership of Reverend E. A. Williams at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, where a Christian foundation was established that remained an important part of his life’s journey. Lawrence was educated in the Forrest City School District and proudly graduated from Forrest City High School with the Class of 1987. Following graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army on August 27, 1987. He served as a Cannon Crewmember with HHB, VII Corps Artillery, attained the rank of Specialist (E-4), and completed more than three years of active-duty service. His military honors included the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, and Marksmanship Badge with Rifle Bar (M-16). Lawrence completed his active military service on May 6, 1991, receiving a General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions. Lawrence was blessed with many God-given talents. He was an excellent artist whose impressive work was admired by many, and he possessed an exceptional gift for numbers and mathematics. He was also blessed with the gift of song and enjoyed singing. Among the simple pleasures of life, fishing was one of his favorite pastimes and brought him great enjoyment. Lawrence will be remembered for his artistic talent, brilliant mind, musical ability, service to his country, and the many memories he shared with those who knew and loved him. Lawrence leaves to cherish his precious memory his parents, Linda Adkins Watson and Lawrence T. Watson, Sr.; his children, Lawrence T. Watson, II and LaShawna Watson; his siblings, David Watson, Christopher Watson, and Samantha (Terry) Foster; his nieces and nephews; his aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Ashley L. Watson, and his brother, Derrick Anthony Watson. Though Lawrence’s earthly journey has come to an end, the gifts God placed within him, his service to his country, and the memories he leaves behind will not be forgotten. His life reminds us that the talents God gives us become a lasting part of the legacy we leave behind.
