Mr. Jerry Lewis Tobar

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7 On February 15, 1949, in Forrest City, Arkansas, God blessed the late William "Bill" Tobar and Eva Scott Tobar with the birth of a son, Jerry Lewis Tobar. Raised in a large and loving family, Jerry learned the values of hard work, humility, faith, and perseverance at an early age. These principles guided him throughout his life and became the foundation of the man his family and friends came to know and love. Jerry received his education in the Forrest City School District. He later dedicated many years of faithful service to the Forrest City School District through GCA Custodial Services, where he worked diligently until his health failed. He was known as a dependable employee who took pride in his work and quietly carried out his responsibilities with dedication and care. Jerry was a quiet and humble man who never sought attention. He was a man of simple pleasures and found joy in the things that brought him peace. He loved spending time fishing and working in his garden, taking pride in watching the fruits of his labor grow. He enjoyed watching television, especially classic Western movies, and could often be found relaxing while watching his favorite programs. Above all, Jerry loved reading his Bible and spending time reflecting on God's Word. Though he was a man of few words, his gentle spirit, kindness, and sincerity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Jerry Lewis Tobar peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City, Arkansas, at the age of 77 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Tobar and Eva Scott Tobar; and his siblings, Willie Tobar, Charlie Tobar, David Tobar, John Henry Tobar, Aaron Tobar, Steve Tobar, Louise Tobar, Luella Tobar, Walter "Pap" Tobar, Eloise Stokes, Lenora Young, Lawrence Tobar, and Ethel Mae Tobar Young. Jerry leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving sister, Lucille (Theodis) Haggins of Brinkley, Arkansas; his devoted brothers, Jerry Tobar of Palestine, Arkansas, and Samuel Tobar of Forrest City, Arkansas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever cherish the love, kindness, and memories he shared throughout his life. Although Jerry's quiet presence will be deeply missed, his life serves as a reminder that a gentle spirit, strong faith, and a humble heart can leave an enduring impact on those around us. His earthly labor is complete, and we take comfort in knowing that he now rests peacefully in the presence of the Lord. Per Mr. Tobar's request, no public services will be held. He requested cremation, and his family will honor his wishes with love and respect.
