Mr. James Lee

Mr. James Lee was born December 25, 1964, in Forrest City, Arkansas. He departed his life on February 23, 2025, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton, California. He was the oldest child of the late Ms. Bennie Mae Lee and the late Mr. Knox Smith. James attended DeRossitt Elementary and schools within the Forrest City School District. He was a handyman who knew how to make ends meet to survive. James worked on Twist Farms for many years. He later moved to Madison, Arkansas and worked under the late Mayor Willard Whitaker until he moved to California. There he began to work for Diamond Walnut and Food for Less until his health began to fail. James Lee was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. While living in California, James met his first wife (the mother of his children); and to their union three children were born: James Lee, Jr., Raeshawn Lee, and Genesis Lee. In 2014 he met the love of his life, his wife Marsha Daniels-Lee, who was with his until his demise. James was known to many by the nickname “Stagga Lee.” He is preceded in death by his parents—Bennie Mae Lee and Knox Smith; his grandparents—Ms. Samella Moore, Mr. Calvin Garry of Madison, Arkansas, and Reverend A. R. Lee of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; a very special aunt—Alberta Britt; uncle—Willie Britt; nephew —Henry Lee, Jr. (a/k/a “Head”); and a cousin—Perry Garry. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife—Marsha Daniels Lee of Stockton, California; two sons—James Lee, Jr. and Raeshawn Lee; one daughter—Genesis Lee all of Stockton, California; two sisters—Mamie Lee of Forrest City, Arkansas and Shirley Lee of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three brothers—Henry (Diane) Lee, Sr. of Madison, Arkansas, Willie Lee and Freddie (Gwen) Lee both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three aunts—Alberta (Herbert) Anderson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Angela Lee and Keisha Lee both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. James had a special niece—Sheena Lee of Forrest City, Arkansas; two special nephews—Demetrius Lee of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Darren James (DJ) of Jonesboro, Arkansas. James was a loving father that loved his family and children. He was always caring for others and helping whomever he could. James loved his sports, especially football (Dallas Cowboys) and basketball (Los Angeles Lakers). His life legacy will live on through his children and the love he had for others.
