Mr. Cassero Lenell "Mano" Washington

Cassero Lenell Washington, affectionately known to his family and friends as “Mano,” was born on December 7, 1977, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Rosetta Washington and Donnell Slaughter. At the age of fourteen, Cassero accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Cassero attended Parkin High School, where he was a scholar and athlete. He later continued his education at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, Mississippi. Cassero was a benevolent father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He was known for his outgoing and adventurous personality, his generous spirit, and the unconditional love he had for his family. Cassero enjoyed life, competitive sports, spending time with family and friends, and, most of all, being with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving host who enjoyed bringing people together and making lasting memories with those he loved. Throughout his 48 years of life, Cassero touched the lives of many with his benevolent heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. Among his greatest accomplishments and proudest joys were his children, whom he loved dearly. On Sunday, June 28, 2026, Cassero departed this earthly life in Anchorage, Alaska. His sudden passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, but the memories, laughter, and love he shared will forever remain a treasured part of his legacy. Cassero was preceded in death by his mother, Rosetta Washington; his maternal grandparents, Elbert and Mary Bell Washington; and his paternal grandparents, Willie and Janie Lewis Slaughter. Cassero leaves to cherish his precious memories his father, Donnell (Carolyn) Slaughter; his sons, Christopher Smith, CaDravious LeShawn Washington, Jalen Jones, Josiah Hall, and Cassero Jones; his daughters, Amari Davis, Sayvia Sellers, Zamanii Lanette Thornton, and Chayah Rosetta Steward; his siblings, Keyisha Washington Baker (Maurice Baker), Krystal A. Washington, Rico Gillon (Tiffany Gillon), LaKisha Robinson (James McCallister), Tanecka Robinson (Joshua Harris), and DeWayne Robinson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends. Cassero will be remembered for the love he gave, the joy he brought into the lives of others, and his devotion to his family. Though his earthly journey has ended, his memory will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, family, and friends who were blessed to know and love him. His life was a blessing, his memory will remain a treasure, and his love will forever live in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
