Mr. Andrew Brown

Andrew Brown, son of the late Deacon Henry Brown, Sr. and Katie Maldonia Brown, was born on January 7, 1938, in Forrest City, Arkansas. He was the third-born in a set of triplets, along with Annie and Ella, and the twelfth child of twenty-two children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Katie Brown; eighteen siblings; his soulmate of 43 years and mother of his children, Ruth Latham; and his bonus daughters, Rebecca Latham-Hoyle and Ruth Ann Latham. Andrew accepted Christ at an early age. As an adult, he became a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his gardens, planting trees, and caring for the land—a gift and passion he learned from his father. He was employed for many years by Yale Hoist, but he was best known for planting and sharing greens and trees throughout the city. On September 2, 2025, Andrew transitioned to his heavenly home. He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Andrew Latham, Sr.; one daughter, LaShun (Ray) Peals of Forrest City, Arkansas; and seven bonus children—Nola Latham, Mahalia Latham, and Carolyn Ware; Yvonne Davis, all of Forrest City, Arkansas; Ellen Latham and Calvin Latham of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Lorene (Lenox) Adams of Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He is also survived by one sister, Tolise (Bobby) Bingham of St. Louis, Missouri; and two brothers, Silas Brown of Cleveland, Ohio, and Huston Brown of Forrest City, Arkansas. He will be truly missed by his grandchildren: Andrew Latham, Jr., Alexis Peals, Courtney Latham, Candance Latham, Azaniah Peals, Aysia Peals, Stephon Latham, Krystal Latham, Jonathan Ruffin, Aric Mayo, Marc Lewis, Calvin Lewis, Waltell Hare, Christopher Hare, Jamal Brown, Mathew Brown, Emily Latham, Trevor Latham, Melissa Adams, Lenox Adams, Mario Banks, Simone Banks, and Australia Banks, Jr. In addition, he leaves behind twenty-six great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. Andrew Brown will be remembered as a man of faith, family, and hard work. He was a loving and kind man who will be missed by so many. “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
