Mr. Altovise D. Swift

Altovise D. Swift was born in Forrest City, Arkansas, to Dorothy Johnson and Andrew Swift Jr., the second of their children. He embraced the Gospel at an early age, being baptized at the Church of Christ on Scott Street under the spiritual guidance of his church family. A proud graduate of Forrest City High School’s Class of 1991, Al furthered his education by earning his GED through Jefferson County. Known to friends and family as “a gentle soul with rough edges,” Al combined deep compassion with unshakeable determination. He delighted in antique cars and classic bicycles, and he approached every challenge in life with a smile and a steadfast resolve. His personal journey of overcoming adversity inspired him to become a self-made motivator, using his experiences to uplift others. Before returning home to Arkansas, Al honed his work ethic at K&R Auto Sales. He also spent time in Georgia working on the set of The Walking Dead through its final episode—an experience that sparked his interest in public platforms and creative outreach. Upon his return, Al launched Sunrise Originals, Sippin’ on Sunday, Poppin’ Off Podcast, and Arkansas Al. Through these ventures, he spent his latter years encouraging better life choices, promoting small businesses, celebrating others’ successes, and bringing joy and laughter to all who listened. Al’s life was marked by faith, perseverance, and a generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Burgess Sr.; his grandparents, Amos and Rosie Lee Burgess and Johnny Johnson Sr. and Rosettia Jones. He is survived by his loving parents, Dorothy Johnson and Andrew Swift Jr.; his sisters Karaine Johnson, Chelsey Cole, Karen Burgess, Katrina Brown, Sandra Williams, Kresha Webb, and Tracey Burgess; his brothers Maurice Swift, Jermaine Johnson, Travis Kimble, Kenneth Burgess (Barbara), Leonard Burgess (Jaqueline), Edgar Williams, Jonathan Burgess Jr., and Jeffery Burgess; and his special niece, Martika Wilson—affectionately nicknamed “Chicken Little” by Al, who in turn dubbed her daughter “Chicken Nugget.” He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will cherish his memory.
